MEET NUM – FOUNDER OF MUAY GYM

Num grew up in Udon Thani in Thailand’s Isaan region, an area renowned for its strong fighting culture and for producing many of the country’s finest Muay Thai fighters. Muay Thai was part of Num’s life from an early age, and he began training under his uncle, a retired fighter from Thailand’s Golden Era of Muay Thai.

After moving to Australia at 11 years old, Num continued training and fighting. When Num was 14, his uncle opened Machai Fairtex, where Num further developed his skills and gained valuable experience inside the ring.

Num continued competing until he was 18 before stepping into a coaching role and helping his uncle operate the gym. This experience taught him that running a successful Muay Thai gym was about more than producing fighters—it was about building confidence, discipline and a supportive community.

At 21 years old, Num opened Muay Gym in 2019 with a clear purpose: to make authentic, technique-focused Muay Thai accessible to everyone.
